Job Description

Deatrick Engineering Associates, Inc. (DEA) is a Civil Engineering firm specializing in Construction Materials Testing (CMT), Third-Party Inspections and Geotechnical Engineering.


DEA is looking for a full-time dispatcher. The dispatcher position requires communication with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives and others as applicable regarding scheduling and dispatching of approximately 8-10 technicians to project sites.


We are looking for a person that has strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, has great communication skills, works well under pressure, has the ability to be a problem solver and has a willingness to help out when needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Assisting clients with dispatch phone calls and scheduling technicians for field and or lab testing service.
  • Communicate and coordinate with field technicians regarding daily jobs or updates
  • Arranges job assignments by appropriately trained field technicians
  • Ability to work with staff and clients and resolve problems
  • Input dispatch information into Excel system
  • Report creation and documentation of work performed by time spent, as appropriate.
  • Reconciles job assignments daily
  • Updates supervisor and managers with progress or delays on any projects
  • Strong skill/experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness with project results required
  • A great work ethic and ready to learn attitude
  • Must be punctual, reliable and dependable
  • Familiarity with a construction materials testing engineering firm operations a plus

  • Familiarity with the Central Florida Area
  • Must be a proactive self-starter with strong initiative and attention to detail
  • Flexible demeanor, pro-active thinker, positive attitude, maintains confidentiality
  • Effective organization, time management skills and ability to shift priorities as necessary
  • Ability to take direction, follow procedures, and ask appropriate questions
  • Effective communication skills at all levels (front-line through executive), both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently, but function within a team environment
  • Develops a good working relationship with all levels of staff
